Dr. Anthony Batts II, is a lifelong learner, educational innovator, motivational speaker and educator from Prince George’s county Maryland. Dr. Batts promotes academic development surrounding the importance and impact of literacy for students through his role as Founder and CEO of the Batts Educational Network.
As CEO Dr. Batts has published his first novel, “Deuce: A Second Chance at Life,” where he recounts the events of an African American adolescent who navigates childhood depression, issues of self-confidence and self-consciousness to find an eventual latent appreciation of life. His second book entitled “A Book of Selected Short stories: by Dr. Anthony Batts II” includes a creative collection of dynamic stories where the many different characters learn life lessons from the interactions in which they encounter.
Through this role, Dr. Batts continues to work on literary projects and speaking engagements as a way to impact and create enthusiastic reading communities, and establish hope for upward mobility amongst the younger generations.
Dr. Batts developed his love for teaching, learning and training throughout his lived experience. Dr. Batts’ Educational experience includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland College, Park, Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University and a Doctorate of Education leadership and Management from Drexel University. Through this, Dr. Batts has established a research interest that includes literacy development, social and economic influence of academic performance as well as urban education. Currently, Dr. Batts serves as a Professor of Academic Writing at the University of Maryland, College Park.
